Middle School Curriculum

 Grade 6th PE Quarter Class

 Objectives:

  • Students will demonstrate consistency in many movement forms including, but not limited to throwing, catching, hand and foot dribble while guarded by opponents.
  • Students will demonstrate accuracy and distance with objects including, but not limited to footballs, archery, and Frisbee.

  • Students will demonstrate basic skills in modified net games including, tennis, volleyball, pickle ball and badminton.  Invasive net games include soccer, and basketball.

  • Students will apply more advanced movement skill development and identify characteristics of highly skilled movement forms
  • Students learn and have opportunities to practice positive social interactions.

Course Description

 

          The course is designed to challenge a student’s critical thinking skills, awareness, and understanding regarding current health issues and concerns.  The students will be given the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

 

Course Objectives

 

          The primary objective is to learn and understand principles of wellness and positive lifestyles.

Grade 7/8th Semester Elective: Recreational Activities/Sports

  •  Learn and develop skills associated with life-long participation in healthy activities.
  • Students will demonstrate consistency in many movement forms including, but not limited to throwing, catching, hand and foot dribble while guarded by opponents.
  • Students will demonstrate accuracy and distance with objects including, but not limited to footballs, archery, and Frisbee.
  • Students will demonstrate basic skills in modified net games including, tennis, volleyball, pickle ball and badminton.  Invasive net game include soccer, and basketball
