Welcome to SEAS Music & Drama!!!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Julie Hawk.  I taught music/drama here previously 2008-2013. For those of you who know me...I'm Back!!! Here's a little bit about myself. After High School, I attended NOC, Tonkawa for 2 years majoring in music. There, I was in a group called the Roustabouts! It's a traveling show troupe of singers and dancers backed by a live band. It was the best time of my college life!!! I absolutely loved performing!!! After that, I moved to Edmond to continue my education at UCO. I met my husband, Travis during this time and we were married in the year 2000. August 12th will be 18 years!!! I graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Music Education. Right after graduation I taught at Deer Creek Elementary for 2 years. I taught grades 1st-5th. I had my son, Carter in 2004 and left teaching to stay home with him for a year. He's 13 and in the 8th grade now and I can hardly believe it! Itching to get back into teaching, I had an opportunity to teach Middle School and High School Vocal in Blackwell, (2005-2008) where I grew up and graduated from. I was there for 3 years. During that time, my husband completed his Associates Degree in Accounting and was ready to start working on his Bachelors so we moved back to Edmond. It was at this time, in 2008, that I first started my career here at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton! I taught here for 5 1/2 years before leaving once again to have and stay home with my daughter, Kori. Now, it's 4 1/2 years later. We had another daughter, Kaci as well! Kori is 4 1/2 and will be attending PreK 4 here at SEAS and Kaci just turned 2 in June! The last 4 1/2 years have been a whirlwind of craziness but I'm back and ready to get started teaching again! I wasn't sure I was ready to leave my stay-at-home mom position, but when I walked around the school and started imagining everything, took some time in prayer and thought, I knew this is where God wanted me to be!!! I can't wait to see how some of my former students have grown and I'm super excited to meet many new faces! I'm so blessed to be here again!!! In my free time, I love to sew, craft, read, watch TV, and just relax! I love spending time with my family. I love going out to eat with my hubby and going to paint at places like Paint Your Art Out!
