1st Grade

Mrs. Bernstein teaches 1st grade. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in mathematics from East Central University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. She held various administration and training positions throughout her career within the energy industry.  She and her husband, David, are parishioners of St. John’s. Her daughter, Hannah, graduated from both St. Elizabeth’s and Bishop McGuiness, and her son, Eli, currently attends St. Elizabeth's. 

Melissa Patton teaches 1st grade. She has worked in several different school positions including as the Nurse Aide at St. Elizabeth’s. Mrs. Patton has many degrees including a BA in Nursing from 2002 from the University of New Hampshire, a BS in Education (Elementary) from 2020 from University of Central Oklahoma and a M. Ed from 2021 from UCO as well. She is originally from Rhode Island but are military family/veterans, so she and her family moved from Warner Robins, GA in 2017. They are members of St. John Baptist. She and her husband married in 2003 and have four children, Lauren, Kaitlyn, William and Matthew. When not teaching, she loves are very active in scouting and also love camping, hiking, visiting National parks, and being outdoors.
